The institute was established in 2007 under the vision of Sunder Deep Group of Institutions aimed to provide the best education and best professionals to the pharmacy fraternity. The institute is approved by AICTE & PCI. The institute has the ISO 9001:2000 certification and is affiliated to MTU, Noida and GBTU, Lucknow (formerly UPTU).
Pharmacy is the science and art of medicine and healthcare. Pharmacists are experts on drug therapies, who optimize medication to provide patients with positive health outcomes. The vastly growing Indian pharmaceutical industry is looking for huge influx of pharmacy professionals to join them in areas of Research & Development, Manufacturing, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Clinical Research, Intellectual Property Rights, Drug Regulatory Affairs, etc.
A Bachelor of Pharmacy is an undergraduate academic degree in the field of pharmacy. The degree is the basic prerequisite for registration to practice as a pharmacist in India and many countries.
In Sunder Deep Pharmacy College students are groomed for their overall development including subject knowledge, practical skill, personality development and ethical values. The mission of Sunder Deep Pharmacy College is to enhance the level of pharmaceutical education and research by training the future teachers, managers and research scientists for the industry and profession. We, at Sunder Deep Pharmacy College firmly believe that education is incomplete without discipline.
ACHIEVEMENTS :
- It is one of the best upcoming colleges in N.C.R.
- It has been ranked no 3 out of 22 new colleges of UPTU in 2008-09.
- 6 of our students from the very first batch have qualified GPAT exam( All India entrance exam for M.Pharm in 2010-2011.
- Ms. Preeti Yadav, IV Year Pharmacy student secured 9th position (81.45%) in the UPTU examinations in Pharmacy in the year 2010-11
- IV year Students: Nishant, Pooja, Utkarsh and Preeti.

The subjects in Pharmacy can be broadly classified as:
- Pharmaceutics –This branch covers the aspects of drug delivery and formulation of drugs into various types of dosage forms like capsules, tablets, injections etc.
- Pharmacology- It is the study of the drugs on the body and the interactions of the drug molecules with the body molecules and other drugs. It involves the study of various new chemical molecules in living systems.
- Pharmacognosy & Phytochemistry- It is the branch that deals with the drugs obtained from the natural origin. It involves the isolation, evaluation and characterization of medicinal substances.
- Analytical Sciences: Deals with quality assurance and quality control of drugs by employing sophisticated instruments like HPLC, FT-IR , UV-Visible spectrophotometer, polarimeter etc used in pharmaceutical industry for quality control procedure and research.
- Hospital and Clinical pharmacy- It deals with the rational drug therapy for the different ailments in the human based on ones clinical conditions and considering various physiological changes being faced by the individual.
- Medicinal Chemistry – Deals with the synthesis of molecules of medicinal importance, drug design and QSAR.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B PHARM)

Eligibility
10+2 with minimum 50% marks in total for required subject combination (Physics & Chemistry compulsory + Maths/Biology/Biotechnology) and UPSEE/AIEEE qualification. (Subject to change as per MTU)
B.Pharm (Lateral Entry in III semester): Candidates having Diploma in Pharmacy may take direct admission in third semester. The candidate must have passed Diploma in Pharmacy securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate.
M.Pharm.(Masters in Pharmacy):The institute offers M.Pharm in 2 streams
- M.Pharm. in Pharmacology
- Duration : Two Years
- No. of Seats : 18(18 in each stream)
Eligibility: B.Pharm. from AICTE approved Institute or from UGC recognized University with 60%marks in aggregate.
GPAT qualified candidate fulfilling the above criteria will be given preference.

The Laboratories
Department of Pharmaceutics
The Institute has three undergraduate Pharmaceutics Laboratories
- Pharmaceutics Laboratory (Industrial Pharmacy Lab).
- Pharmaceutics Laboratory II.
- Pharmaceutics Laboratory III (Physical Pharmacy Lab).The Labs are well equipped with high quality equipments, glasswares and chemicals to carry out the necessary experimentation work as prescribed in the syllabus of B.Pharm.
Machine Room

The machine room has a well built area of machines generally encountered in Pharmaceutical Industry like Pan coater, Hand operated Single punch machine, All purpose equipment, Dissolution Rate Test Apparatus (I.P Standard), Disintegration Rate Test Apparatus (U.S.P. standard), Ampoule filling and sealing machine, Bottle filling machine, Mechanical and Gyratory Sieve Shaker, Filter Press, Reynolds Apparatus, Venturimeter , Orifice meter, Vacuum filter Unit, Friability test apparatus, Humidity chamber, Capsule filling machine, Mechanical Stirrer, Double and Cuboidal Cone Blender and Ointment filling machine. This laboratory provides a window for young and aspiring pharmacist to be well versed with the current Pharmaceutical Scenario.
Pharmaceutical Microbiology Laboratory

This laboratory is built with an insight into the Biotechnology Industry with instruments like B.O.D. Incubator, Aseptic Room with Laminar Air Flow Cabinet and U.V. Cabinet, Deep Freezer, Digital Oven, Incubators, Double Door Ovens, Bacterial Colony Counter, Autoclaves.

Separate balance room is provided with each laboratory. These laboratories help in acclimatizing the student with the chemistry, analytical and synthetic aspects of the pharmacy profession which helps them in their career as an analytical chemist, Research and Development and in Post graduate studies.

The Central Instrument Facility is a state of art laboratory boasting its highly sophisticated instruments viz. HPLC (UFLC-SPD20A, Shimadzu) with Ultra High Flow and Elution systems, Fourier Transform -IR Spectrophotometer (IRAffinity1, Shimadzu), Double beam UV-Visible Spectrophotometer (UV-1800, Shimadzu),Brookfield's viscometer, Abbe's Refractometer, Nephelo/Turbidimeter, Polarimeter, pH meter, Conductivity meter, Potentiometer, I.R. Moisture Balance, sonicator, digital balance(1 mg sensitivity), and Electronic Single Pan Balance.
These instruments are effectively used by undergraduate and post graduate students for analysis of drugs and their formulations in their projects and regular course curriculum.
Department of Pharmacognosy
It is equipped with instruments like Soxhlet Apparatus and Clevenger’s Apparatus for extraction and isolation of crude drugs, Microtome for cutting fine section of the drugs, Bio-Visual aids like - Permanent Slides, Compound and Dissecting Microscope, Medicinal plant charts, Visualizing wooden cabinets of crude drugs etc.
HERBAL-Garden:

The herbal garden of Sunder Deep Pharmacy College is well designed, spacious and having about 70 flourishing species of various medicinal plants.

The Pharmacology lab consists of equipments to identify the activity of various drug samples. These include Digital Actophotometer, Eddy’s hot plate, Rota rod, Histamine Chamber, Plethysmometer, electroconvusiometer, pyrogen telethermometer, Single and Double organ Bath with Kymograph to study the effect of drugs on intact animals and isolated preparations.
Anatomy, Physiology and Pathophysiology Laboratory
This laboratory has models of bones of entire human body, human skeleton model, joints of human body, various charts and models of brain, ear, human digestive system. It has instruments for the study of human body and its functioning like Sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, glucometer, haemocytometer, haemometer, kit for detection of blood groups and Rh factor. etc for grasping the basics of the core anatomy and physiology of human body for its application in the pharmaceuticals.
Computer Lab

The Institute is entirely wi-fi enabled and encompasses a spacious computer lab with latest computers having 24 hours high speed internet connectivity.
CLASSROOM AND LIBRARY
Classroom
All the classrooms are spaciously designed with good ventilation are well furnished and fitted with modern teaching aids like OHP slide projectors & LCD Projector.
Digital Library
The library has a collection of meticulously chosen 4068 books, 389 titles on different subjects of Pharmacy. 47 journals of national and international repute, periodicals, magazines and newspapers are subscribed in the library in the periodical section. The special feature of library is DELNET through which it is connected to 743 Indian as well as foreign libraries. It is also equipped with reprographics facility.
The college is equipped with animal house, museum, seminar hall and separate common rooms for boys and girls.
Faculty
SDPC has well qualified & dedicated faculty members, educated from renowned universities of the country. The faculty is actively engaged in research with most of them pursuing their PhD's. They are continuously enriching themselves by attending workshops, symposium, refresher courses and conferences at National and International levels.
